Diabetes Prevention Education Program and Healing Gardens

The NAU Department of Health Sciences is proud to support the Diabetes Prevention Education and Healing Gardens Program, a grant funded, non-profit organization that supports efforts to address and prevent the diabetes epidemic among Native Peoples in northern Arizona and northwestern New Mexico.

The Outreach Programs are located in four (4) sites: Tuba City, Leupp, Flagstaff, and Tohatchi. (Tohatchi, New Mexico is a new site, located approximately 30 miles north of Gallup on the Navajo Nation's Fort Defiance Agency.)
